THE HOUSE OF TRUTH

We cannot forget, and we shouldn’t forget, that the new president of the United States (and yes, the United States still matters on the world “scene”) “earned a living”, at least for a portion of his life, by promoting, building and managing CASINOS.

What is a Casino…?
Like a brothel, it is a deceptive place, mistaking illusion for reality.
It is the place of deception par excellence. And who has doubts about this, should read The Queen of Spades by Alexander Pushkin.
Just as a brothel does not give love, but its illusion, a casino does not impart riches.
It has been said that gamblers are anal personalities, who confound the real penis (phallus) with the anal one, which only resembles a penis, but it is actually its opposite.
Neither casino, nor brothel, will ever satisfy the quest for a sustaining meaning in this life, which probably only true love can generate and give.

So how would THE HOUSE OF TRUTH look like?
Would it be The House of Mirrors?
Would it resemble a casino, or a shopping mall, or a gold-covered top floor apartment, mimicking unfounded riches?
We all need illusions, of course. But illusions without a certain degree of truth die out.
Perhaps we should try to imagine, in front of the present White House, THE HOUSE OF TRUTH.
One that would be seen by those entering and exiting the White House.
Would it still be white?

Maybe yes, maybe not.
It could very well be RED… or any other color… or even colorless.

We don’t know.
It is up to you to decide.
But we feel we need truth more than ever.
We need to counter-balance the Hall of Mirrors we are surrounded with, at all levels, these days.
We need more, much more, than the seductiveness of showmanship, much more than mere reflections and glitter.
While it is true that life has within itself many shades of illusory matter, at bottom, indeed, it does have its inalienable truth.
We ask you to express this truth, architecturally. In whatever form you feel appropriate.

And to place it in front of the White House. Or, if you prefer, in front of the Government building in Bucharest, where, just days ago and just as in Washington, hundreds of thousands of people protested political corruption, that is, un-truth.
